The Governor revealed that this morning, officials will remove the pedestrian overpass to open up the area for repairs and the installation of grouting to strengthen the soil layers. This removal will also reduce the weight pressing down on the subsided area, increasing safety during the operation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanet Weerasiri, a civil engineering expert, revealed that as of this morning (July 11, 2026), no further subsidence was observed in surrounding buildings. While data from monitoring instruments confirms the area remains stable, there may be slight increases in cracks on the road surface due to vibrations from the machinery used for repairs. Officials are currently injecting cement and chemicals into the soil at a depth of approximately 31-37 meters to reinforce the soil and fill voids under the tunnel. Inclinometers are also being installed and connected to a real-time monitoring system to watch for movement of the building and surrounding area 24 hours a day. Governor Chatchart stated that the latest situation remains stable. The rain did not affect the area because the water found was groundwater seeping from below, not surface water. Bangkok continues to designate a monitoring area within a 30-meter radius and has prepared evacuation plans should the situation change. A command center has also been established in the area to closely monitor the public. Regarding traffic, Prachathipok Road remains closed from Wongwian Yai to Ban Khaek intersection. The public is advised to use Isaraphab Road, Lad Ya Road, or Somdet Chao Phraya Road instead, despite the closure of the construction area. However, residents in the surrounding areas can still travel normally.
