How to use a KONG DOG TOY to feed your dog
In this video, we show you how to use a Kong dog toy to keep your puppy or dog occupied and happy for a nice long time. Kong dog toys are interactive food puzzles that engage the dog's natural foraging instincts. We share my favorite Kong-filling recipe, and show how to stuff a Kong. Our dogs love these things, because they get to focus on something positive, calming, and rewarding for good long time. So let's share our top tips for introducing and using Kong toys with your dogs! Classic Kong: https://prf.hn/l/6ZRY40Y KONG Extreme (for heavy chewers): https://prf.hn/l/rpJP8Oq CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR DOG! There is a size guide on the product page. Kongs are a very simple and very useful useful tool for any dog owner, especially if you know how to use them to help your dog calm down, and focus their attention on something that they instinctually enjoy. For example, does your dog ever hound you for attention when you are trying to do human stuff? Or do they ever get really wound up and hyper, and you wished you had a good way to get them to calm down? Do they wolf down their food? Because our dogs sure used to do all of that. But that's one of the reasons why we love Kongs so much, they have really helped us in our training journey, and so here we are to show you how we are using them to help train them to be better dogs! Kongs make the dog have to work to get the food out, which shifts their brains into an instinctual foraging state, and helps them calm down and stay occupied, leaving you free to do human stuff! They are also a great solution for dogs who wolf down their food too fast. Plus, having to work for their food helps improve the dog's focus, patience, and tolerance of frustration. Remember, the food given in a any food puzzle toy should count as part of the dog's daily food allowance, and you can use what ever food you are already using: wet food, dry food, raw... it all works! Here's a couple of Kong tips: You can always use peanut butter (first make sure it does NOT contain xylitol!) to stopper the end of the Kong if you want, or a small round treat that fits. Also, adding a little liquid and freezing the Kong will increase the difficulty level once your dog starts to become skilled at getting the food out. Thanks for watching.
