An easy and fun Christmas jumper special Difficulty: Easier Length: 25 minutes Grab your Christmas jumpers and join me for this is a short mat-based class that includes some of our favourite Pilates moves to help gently stretch and strengthen through the body. The class with a short warm up in sitting then moves onto our backs and sides before finishing back into sitting. The class is suitable for most levels but as always please work to a level that you feel safe and comfortable to do. This class includes: Sitting – shoulder rolls and neck stretch Chest opening Upper body rotation stretch Hip twist with opposite arm opening Double leg stretch Bridging Side lying hip glide forwards and to the side Arm opening Opposite arm and leg stretch Rotation stretch Glute and hamstring stretches Sitting – chest stretch and shoulders rolls and neck stretch We start the class in sitting and gently stretch our neck and upper body. We then move down onto the mat onto our backs combining some arm and leg movements with a hip twist and double leg stretch. On our backs we then engage our core and glutes and mobilise our spine with a bridge exercise. Moving onto our sides we challenge our glute muscle control with a hip glide forwards and to the side. Continuing onto our sides we open out through our chest with an arm opening stretch. We then move onto our backs and lengthen out through the body with an opposite arm and leg stretch. We then stretch into our legs with a hamstring and glute stretch. Finishing the class in sitting with a chest stretch and some shoulder rolls and neck stretch. Interested in more Pilates?
