Top 10 Grimdark Fantasy Books of All Time

Most of my favorite fantasy books are filled with grey characters, dark worlds and "realistic" (honestly heartbreaking) consequences! Let's discuss some of the best Grimdark fantasy books I've read! Until I started researching for this video, I didn't realize that Grimdark had controversy. From the original concept of grimdark (that came from Warhammer 40k) to label our fantasy books grimdark, there is a spectrum! I saw active discussions on whether or not Malazan was Grimdark, or even Robin Hobb. So please take into consideration that! I tried to adjust to the description that I found of grimdark being: grey characters, a world filled with war and with a very not hopeful tomorrow, and somewhat realistic themes (that tackle less the "hero" vs "villain" and more the "we are all people doing whatever we can/want for our own goals).
