Nigel Farage’s ‘political masterstroke’ has actually ‘fallen flat’
‘Triggered with Samara Gill’ host Samara Gill says she initially thought Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage’s move to resign was a “political masterstroke” but is beginning to think it has actually “fallen flat”. “I’m kind of comparing it to…Nixon’s 1952 checkers moment, where he was under a lot of scrutiny over public finances … he understood democratic legitimacy comes from voters and not elites, and that’s essentially what Farage was trying to do,” Ms Gill told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “Unfortunately, the establishment has kind of turned against him; they’re not going to run any people in what they call a ‘sham election’. “It’s kind of fallen flat in its face for Farage because now he’s just up against a bin. “Although what I thought was a sort of political masterstroke earlier on in the week, I am starting to think that they didn’t war game this up at Reform HQ. “If he doesn’t play this properly, it could be the beginning of the end."
