introduction to spatial audio - sound and space - Session 1: Spatial Audio Summer Seminar 2018
IRCAM researcher Markus Noisternig introduces workshop participants to the general concept of spatial audio, with particular focus on Wave Field Synthesis, High-Order Ambisonics, and the historical context within which these systems have been developed. Hosted by EMPAC at Rensselaer along with IRCAM (the Paris-based Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique), and CCRMA (Stanford University Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics), this workshop gave participants the opportunity to experience large-scale, complex audio setups in pristine acoustic environments. empac.rpi.edu/events/2018/spatial-audio-summer-seminar
