Held from June 9–15, 2025, the Helsinki Samba Carnaval is a week-long celebration of Brazilian culture in the Nordic capital. From colorful performances and joyful workshops to open-air concerts and family-friendly activities, the event brings together people of all ages to share in the joy of samba. It attracts up to 40,000 spectators each year — both locals and tourists from around the world. Samba Processions – The Main Event At the heart of the festivities is the Finnish Carnival Samba Championship – a dazzling competition where samba schools from across Finland (and even abroad) compete for the crown with incredible performances. While dance technique is judged in specific categories, many groups are open to all — making the procession a joyful and inclusive celebration for professionals and first-timers alike.
