To celebrate the 75 years since the first publication of Evelyn Waugh's 'Brideshead Revisited', Dr Chris Ridgway takes an up close look at the origins of this much loved classic. The relationship between Castle Howard and the fictional Brideshead Castle began when Waugh made a visit to the Howardian Hills in 1937. Since this visit Castle Howard has starred as the title location for two on screen adaptions, and for many fans is now synonymous with the setting for Waughs novel.
