I visited the Buddhist monastery and rubber plantation in Ramu, Cox's Bazar. Ramu is an upazila under Cox's Bazar district. There are dozens of tourist attractions in Ramu. Among them are Hiram Cox's bungalow, the country's largest rubber plantation, Buddhist temples built in the style of Thai temples. Notable among the temples are the historic Rangkut Banashram Buddhist monastery built by Emperor Ashoka, the one hundred feet lion bed of Gautama Buddha statue in Uttar Mithachari, and others.
