7029 Clun Castle ROARS through Old Hill with the Shakespeare Express PLUS a FIRE at the SVR

Today was mainly about capturing the Shakespeare Express that started from Worcester Shrub Hill en route to its usual destination at Stratford-upon-Avon. First we capture the journey from Birmingham Snow Hill to Worcester hauled by 37240 with the Castle at the rear and this is captured at Rowley Regis. We then move to Old Hill for the main attraction where Clun Castle ROARS through the station on the climb to the tunnel. We only had time for the outward run today and the plan was a quick visit to the SVR to capture BR Standard No. 75069 and the Warship D821 'Greyhound'. On arrival at Foley Park tunnel the lineside was well on fire but fortunately a passer-by had already phoned the fire brigade. 75069 duly arrived tender first but of course the scene was busy with the fire brigade and people out walking. The Warship followed by did put on a bit of a power show. We then see the brigade leaving having put the fire out. These were obviously not the planned scenes but it was something different. It was good to meet up with Luke, Tom, James, Dan and Phil at Old Hill.
