Grindelwald winter season, the main town of the Jungfrau Region. Surely one of the best places in Switzerland during winter. We go there in this second video dedicated to the Jungfrau region. We are in the Canton of Bern, a few kilometers from the city of Interlaken. Grindelwald, at the foot of Mount Eiger, is one of the few towns in the region that can be reached by car and in winter it is frequented above all by winter sports enthusiasts. The shooting of this video was filmed in March 2021. Due to the pandemic, traveling was still an adventure and the Swiss Alps were the only ones accessible to visitors as long as they respected some precise rules. Perhaps for this reason there were few people around, the tourists were mainly on the ski slopes. After all, the restaurants were closed, many shops were half-hourly and the town was immersed in an unreal tranquility. When we arrived at the Hotel Gletschergarten, it was starting to snow. Initially no more than a few sporadic flakes but as time went by the snow started falling more and more thick until it turned into a crazy snowfall. It went on like this for almost three days with short breaks which we took advantage of to shovel snow from the car and explore the surroundings. Even so Grindelwald was charming. The train is the ideal way to get around the Jungfrau region. The colorful trains of the Bernese Oberland Railways connect the various locations allowing skiers and hikers to get around without using the car. The railway winds its way between mountains and valleys, reserving an exciting spectacle for passengers. The carriages are equipped with panoramic windows from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the snow-capped peaks but we will see this better in the next videos.
