LUGER P-08 GUN Lighter Restoration -

Restoration of a Vintage gun lighter model Luger P-08 gold with a 12-inch barrel. This cigarette lighter is from the early 70’s and I very bad condition. See me restore and repair this item into a golden beauty. This weird looking gun is in really bad shape. It is full of rust and corrosion, there are several holes in the metal and the gun barrel are not straight. I got it from a friend of mine who works at a metal dumpster station. THE RESTORATION PROCESS I disassembled the lighter and sandblasted all the parts. I used fine glass beads as my sandblasting media. I fixed a few holes with solder and casted a bigger hole with pewter. All the fixes were carefully grinded to look as original as possible. I straighten out the curved gun barrel carefully using heat and a hammer and I grinded all the scratches and hammer marks away afterword’s. The sight who was mounted on the gun was not original. So I re-created a copy of the original Luger gun sight using my lathe, a rivit and some solder. I sandblasted it all again, so all the pieces have the same surface – I re-assembled all the gun parts and painted it with a very cool semi glossy gold metal spray paint. The result of this was so awesome. The lighter was carefully separated. All the lighter parts where cleaned, polished, and tested before I assembled it. It worked very well after the restoration and the flame was surprisingly big. I really enjoyed doing this restoration video. I like when these weird objects get a second chance in life.
