SUPREME COURT IS 150 YEARS: Kulendi Reflects on Justice, Elections and Democracy | Point of View
#SupremeCourt150 #JusticeYonnyKulendi #GhanaJudiciary #ElectionPetitions #GhanaDemocracy #PointOfView #ChannelOneTV As the Supreme Court of Ghana marks 150 years, Justice Yonny Kulendi has highlighted the institution’s resilience, constitutional role, and contribution to Ghana’s democratic development. Speaking on Citi Breakfast, and later rebroadcast on The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV, Justice Kulendi said the Supreme Court has survived every coup Ghana has experienced since becoming a republic. He explained why the anniversary focuses on the Supreme Court’s 150 years rather than the Judiciary as a whole, noting the unique constitutional position and historical significance of the apex court. Justice Kulendi also discussed the Supreme Court’s role in resolving election petitions, stressing that the court is the only institution constitutionally mandated to adjudicate presidential election disputes.
