Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the United States and Lebanon have agreed to the continued presence of Israeli forces in the security zone in southern Lebanon. He emphasized that Israel controls the Beaufort Castle area and will remain there, stressing that his forces will be granted freedom of movement to counter any threat. He added that he opposed any attempt to impose an Israeli withdrawal, considering the agreement to strengthen both Israel and Lebanon while weakening Iran and Hezbollah. He also indicated that other agreements are imminent as part of what he described as a plan to reshape the region. On Friday evening, Washington witnessed the signing of a "framework agreement" between Beirut and Tel Aviv, concluding the fifth round of direct negotiations hosted by the United States.
