Jack Shanahan's S54 Powered BMW 1 Series | Behind the Build

Jack Shanahan had 16 days to turn a bare shell into a Formula Drift competition car. No engine, no wiring, no drivetrain. Just a cage, a deadline, and a crew that refused to miss the grid. Inside this build: an S54 from a BMW E46 M3 running upright in an E82 1 Series chassis it was never designed for, a Pulsar 7170 turbo, 800whp without nitrous, and a full Samsonas RS90 sequential gearbox that Jack has trusted since 2015. Every bolt turned by hand. Every decision his own. We broke down the entire build over on the Drift HQ blog, every component, every reason it was chosen, and the story behind why Jack made the call to run his own car this season.
