Actors That Were Injured In Lord of the Rings

The “Lord of the Rings” franchise brings us endless entertainment – especially since its release of “Rings of Powers” starring incredible performers like Morfydd Clark, but did you know that this franchise contains more on set injuries than most others? We talk a lot about Viggo Mortensen, because on more than one occasion, he could’ve suffered a fatal injury or even possibly drowned in a river rapid! He’s such a talented and dedicated actor, he never flinched when having to do another dangerous take. During all of his sword fights, he’s getting chunks of flesh taken out of his knuckles and he just continues to carry on. Elijah Wood also suffered a pretty serious injury – he fell down three flights of stairs. Everyone on set commends him for his incredible work ethic – he would never get any time off and really didn’t sleep much. He could be found catching a fifteen minute power nap in between takes. Did you know that during John Rhys-Davies fight scenes he was actually hitting the stunt guys as hard as he could? He wouldn’t even try to miss. Everything you’re seeing on screen – the fear in their eyes – is totally real. Those stunt guys were fighting for their lives against John. He also suffered from major allergies from the prosthetic skin he had on, so he actually could hardly see what he was doing! We’ll be getting into all of these injuries and more, so stick around until the end – you’re definitely going to want to binge-watch the franchise after.
