How to Choose Chords for a Melody Part 1

Part 1 in a new series on how to harmonize a melody. In this lesson we’ll start at the very basics, with diatonic major triads in root position. When trying to write a video about harmonizing melodies I kept thinking “Well before this I should probably explain that other thing…” and then “well before THAT I should explain that…” until I realized I should probably just go WAY back and start real basic. So if you’re an advanced student don’t worry, we’ll get to more interesting things one step at a time.
