Last time, we learned that genuine faith is not measured merely by the promises we make, but by the obedience that follows. Yet before faith can be seen in our actions, something must first be planted in our hearts. Every harvest begins with a seed, and every seed produces according to the condition of the ground where it is sown. In Matthew 13:3–9 and 18–23, Jesus shared the parable of the sower and revealed that the Word of God is like a seed. The seed itself is always good, but the results depend on the condition of the heart that receives it. Some seed fell by the wayside, where hardened hearts allowed the enemy to steal away what had been heard. Some fell on rocky ground, where there was immediate joy but no depth, causing faith to wither when trials came. Other seed fell among thorns, where worries, distractions, and worldly desires choked spiritual growth. But some seed fell on good ground, where it took root, grew steadily, and produced an abundant harvest. This third part of our series reminds us: • God is continually planting seeds through His Word. • The condition of our hearts determines the fruit that our lives will bear. • A hardened heart cannot retain what God desires to grow. • Shallow roots cannot endure difficult seasons. • The cares of this world can choke what God has planted. • A heart surrendered to God becomes good soil that produces lasting fruit. Every day, seeds are being planted. Through what we hear, what we believe, and what we choose to nurture, something is always growing within us. God desires not just emotional responses or temporary enthusiasm, but hearts that are prepared, rooted, and fruitful. He is looking for believers who will treasure His Word, guard it carefully, and allow it to transform their lives from the inside out.
