Sharing real-life stories of young onset dementia with Lynda and Rosemary
There 28,000 people in Canada living with young onset dementia. And each one of them—and their family members—has a story to tell. Lynda runs her own startup, has a full-time job, and is mom to two young children—all during a pandemic. Recently, she and her partner also moved Lynda's mother, Rosemary, into their compact home. Rosemary lives with young onset dementia—specifically, young onset Alzheimer's disease. She says that living with family, and attending a good activity program nearby, help her cope with the changes brought by the disease. If you or someone you know is living with young onset dementia, your local Alzheimer Society is here to help. Find your area team's contact information at alzheimer.ca/find. Or reach our national information and referrals line at 1-855-705-4636 and [email protected] for help connecting ASAP.
