David Hundeyin is widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s foremost investigative journalists. He’s broken numerous stories on his Substack newsletter: West Africa Weekly; including ‘Cornflakes for Jihad: The Boko Haram Origin Story’ and ‘Bola Ahmed Tinubu: From Drug Lord to Presidential Candidate’. He’s renowned internationally as one of the few journalists in Nigeria and Africa who speak truth to power and hold the powerful accountable. He’s also received numerous awards, including the GRC and Anti-Financial Crime Reporter of the Year 2021 and again in 2022; and the People Journalism Prize for Africa 2020. David is also the 2023 Distinguished James Currey Fellow at the University of Cambridge and the author of ‘The Jungle: A Personal Journey with the Enfant Terrible of Nigerian Journalism’.
