$1 Foam RC Glider Hack

$1 Foam RC Glider Hack In this video I will take a $1 foam glider that I purchased at Dollar General store and convert it to RC flight. These foam RC glider conversions can be a lot of fun, especially with the micro RC equipment available today. I decided to increase the glider wing area with 3/16" foam board. In the end, the glider is just a bit too small to handle the weight of the RC gear, and did not fly well at all. Looking back, the wings had very little airfoil section and simply not sufficient surface area for the weight. Also, the rudder was just not effective enough to keep the roll under control. Sometimes in RC modeling and design you just need to cut your losses. In the future I look forward to additional RC glider conversions, just with a much larger glider, starting at around 3 foot wingspan.
