New Fire Alarm System Test 1 (2022)

*This video is protected under copyright law. Do not use without permission* The new system is finally up and running! I'm only 4 months late, but what the heck... The original plan was to set up a whole-house system of Gentex Commander 3's, BG-12Ls, heat detectors and smoke detectors. About halfway through the project I decided to change my mind and do a Fire Lite/Simplex system instead. I will be installing heat detectors and a Carbon Monoxide detector on the system eventually, just not at the moment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I forgot to mention this in the video, but due to the fact that the smoke detector used in the video is 12v and the panel puts out 24v, I had to use a buck transformer to bring the voltage down from 24v to 12v. It works quite nicely and has been since about July or so. The 4009-9201 IDNet NAC Extender panel is only there for the sole purpose of running the TrueAlerts. Before you say "you can't run Simplex devices on an FWR panel" I am very well aware of this. That's why I bought said 4009... shut up, I don't want to hear it. ANYWAYS... This new system will serve our house much better than the old one due to the fact that its completely automated... In the back portion of the house at least.
