El Pueblo de México que la Codicia está Hundiendo (Cerro de San Pedro)

This Mexican town could disappear at any moment. Some places don't die suddenly, but rather in absolute silence... Today we venture into Cerro de San Pedro, in San Luis Potosí, a legendary mining town founded in 1592 that became the heart of New Spain due to its immense wealth in gold and silver. It was so important that its silhouette inspired the state's coat of arms. However, today it is a ghost town that silently endures: barely a hundred families refuse to abandon their homes while the earth's bowels collapse due to a mine that never stops operating. In this epic exploration, we walk along the forgotten paths of the hill, enter the underground caves where the old miners lived in extreme conditions, explore the ruins of the old "gringo colony," and discover the historic Casa de Raya, the exact place where the extracted ore was paid for with blood and sweat. We also visited the local museum to understand the significance of this site and climbed to the viewpoint to see how open-pit mining devoured the original landscape. Join us on this journey through time. Because as long as someone remembers its stories, San Pedro will not be completely lost. "It takes the darkness to see the stars." ✨ Special thanks to my brother @SoyEdilson for joining me on this adventure. Go check out his channel and give him lots of support!
