Timecodes: 00:00 - Intro 3:04 - Etar 38:48 - Zheravna 1:00:37 - Arbanasi 1. Etar Etar coordinates: 42.8034° N, 25.3491° E Etar is not just a village, but an open-air architectural and ethnographic complex and museum, located near Gabrovo. It's a reconstruction of Bulgarian life in the 18th and 19th centuries: authentic workshops, mills, forges, and water mechanisms are still in operation. Interesting facts: This is the first open-air museum of its kind in Bulgaria. The museum grounds house a unique collection of water-related technical structures—mills, saws, and rotary mechanisms, many of which are operational. Every year, the International Panair of Traditional Crafts is held here, where artisans demonstrate how traditional crafts were made by hand. 🌿 A walk through Etru is like stepping back in time to the Renaissance: narrow cobbled streets, wooden houses, workshops, mills, and the sound of babbling water create an enchanting atmosphere. 2. Zheravna Zheravna coordinates: 42.8333° N, 26.4574° E Zheravna is a charming mountain village in the Sliven region, an architectural reserve of national importance. It boasts over 200 wooden houses in the Bulgarian National Revival style, creating the feeling of a living fairy tale. Interesting facts: Zeravna boasts museum-houses of famous Bulgarian personalities—the house of Sava Filaretov and the house of writer Yordan Yovkov. The Folk Nosia Festival is held here annually, attracting lovers of folklore and traditional costumes. Zeravna's architectural appearance has remained virtually unchanged since the 18th and 19th centuries—houses, bridges, and cheshmi create a living open-air museum. Zeravna is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll: wooden paths, quiet corners, traditional cheshmi, and the gentle rustle of the mountain air—all create a feeling of ancient comfort. 3. Arbanasi Arbanasi coordinates: 43.097855, 25.668238 Arbanasi is a picturesque village-reserve near Veliko Tarnovo, located on a plateau overlooking the Tsarevets and Trapezitsa churches. It is an architectural and historical site with a rich cultural heritage. Interesting facts: The first documented mention of the village was in the farm of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1538. About 144 ancient houses have been preserved in Arbanasi, many of them fortress-like, with high stone gates, rich carvings, and interior decoration. There are five churches and two monasteries, all decorated with frescoes, wood carvings, and ancient paintings. In the past, residents were engaged in trade, sericulture, goldsmithing, and even exported goods abroad. Arbanasi is a combination of grandeur and tranquility: stone fortress-like houses, cozy courtyards, monasteries, vineyards, and views of old Tarnovo—a perfect place for a meaningful, meditative stroll. #Bulgaria, #walks, #beautifulVillages, #Etar, #Zheravna, #Arbanasi, #village, #history, #architecture, #mountainvillages, #tourism, #mountains, #bulgaria, #Etir, #village, #walk, #travel, #walk, #village, #ethnographicmuseum, #traveling, #history, #tourism, #hiking, #mountains, #Bulgaria, #walk in the village, #village of Bulgaria, #village, #travel, #walk in the village, #video travel, #atmospheric walk, #ancient village, #architecture, #tourismBulgaria
