In 2017, the world's largest wind turbine was erected in Germany! It has a total height of over 246.5 meters and produces enough electricity for more than 10,000 people! Four of these gigantic wind turbines were built! With wind turbines, the larger they are, the more electricity they can generate. The usable energy that a wind turbine can extract from the wind is proportional to the rotor area it sweeps. It is therefore not surprising that the turbines are getting ever larger. The Danish company Vestas is already building the next record-breaking turbine, and China is also planning to build a 280-meter-tall power plant. The electricity yield will also be significantly higher in this case. The expected output is 4-6 times higher!
