East Coast noise-rock shit-starting myths Lightning Bolt pulverized a crowd into submission with a vengeance at the Cellar Door on Thursday, April. 14th and Arroz y Frijoles was there. After the show, we managed to sit down with Brian Chippendale where we discussed jazz crushes, meeting Steve Albini for the first time, the live show, memories of their legendary and now defunct rehearsal space Fort Thunder (which became a mecca for extreme art and music for Providence in its existence), and the goals (or lack thereof) for Lightning Bolt.
