“Empowering Lives To Impact Our World” Champion Life Centre-Scarborough Sunday Celebration Sermon – January 5, 2024 Preacher: Dr. Roy Verzosa Message Title: High Five in 2025 Message Text: Hebrews 13:1-8 NIV Concluding Exhortations 13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 5 RESOLUTIONS TO KEEP YOU IN 2025 1 I Will CONCERN Myself With Loving People (Vv. 1-3) 2 I Will COMMIT Myself To Sexual Purity (V. 4) 3 I Will CONTENT Myself With What I Have (Vv. 5-6) 4 I Will CONDUCT Myself According To Godly Example (v. 7) 5 I Will CONSECRATE Myself To Magnify Christ (v. 8) Let’s Talk: 1. What practical steps can you take to demonstrate love and hospitality in 2025? How can your life group support each other in living out this resolution? 2. What does it mean to be content with what you have, and how can trusting in God’s promise to never leave or forsake you help combat the temptation to covet? Share ways to cultivate gratitude and dependence on God in your daily life. 3.How can you consecrate (dedicate) yourself to magnifying Christ in your words, actions, and decisions in 2025?
