Exploring Siddington - Redesmere Lake & Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield, Cheshire

#uk #winterwalks #Cheshire Today we're near Macclesfield in Cheshire for a 4 mile run starting from Redesmere. Our route takes us alongside Redesmere (a manmade lake which feeds Capesthorne Halls pools). Then we pass Capesthorne Hall, an 18th century hall, its still home to the Bromley-Davenport family though visits to the house and gardens are available in the summer, its also been used as a filming location for tv including Coronation Street, BBC's Close to the enemy, Sky's Cobra and Little Birds and going further back to the 80s, The adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Treasure Hunt with Anneka Rice. We then take the path over the fields and through the wood to the tiny village of Siddington before looping back around to Redesmere.
