Today we traveled from the Bronx to Washington Heights to experience the Juan Pablo Duarte Festival firsthand, one of New York's most important Dominican celebrations. This year, the festival paid tribute to Salcedo, the hometown of the Mirabal Sisters, pivotal figures in the history of the Dominican Republic. Join me through the streets of Washington Heights, known by many as the Dominican capital outside our country.
