Delayed till 2027! New Piccadilly line trains continue testing in West London

Testing took place 7th March 2026 between Northfields and Hammersmith. Originally planned for 2024, delayed to late 2025 and now further delayed till early 2027, the new fleet of 2024 stock Piccadilly Line trains are experiencing setbacks due to complex engineering challenges with integrating new technology into the 120-year-old infrastructure. The new, air-conditioned, walk-through trains are now expected to start carrying passengers in the first half of 2027.
