軍營開放日｜市民風雨無阻入內參觀　軍事迷學生：「安全感滿滿！」

To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison opened its Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks to the public today (September 20). The barracks were open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Despite several showers this morning, Hong Kong citizens, students, and people from all walks of life lined up early to visit. Families of three came to take photos, and groups of friends took pictures together, creating a lively atmosphere. The barracks displayed a wide array of advanced military equipment, dazzling and impressing visitors. One military enthusiast remarked, "With the PLA garrison here, I feel incredibly safe." This morning, the PLA garrison held a flag-raising ceremony at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks. Tian Sheng, a fifth-grade student from Youhua Catholic Primary School, was deeply moved after witnessing the ceremony. He is also a flag bearer at his school, and seeing the national flag raised today made him feel "so proud." He hopes to become a flag bearer someday. Ms. Li, a regular visitor for many years, also brought her two children today. She mentioned that she takes children to visit the military camp every year when she has time, hoping to cultivate their sense of national identity from a young age. A Form Two student, surnamed Yuan, a military enthusiast, was particularly curious about the various warships and finally got to visit this year. After witnessing many advanced equipment firsthand, he said he "felt a strong sense of security." To present a spectacular performance to the public, the officers and soldiers of the Hong Kong Garrison have been training intensively for days. Sergeant Gao Bin, a second-class officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, said, "This is my eighth year participating in the military camp performance. I hope to leave a deep impression on the people of Hong Kong and let them feel the increasingly harmonious relationship between the Hong Kong Garrison and the people of Hong Kong." Sergeant Li Ze, a second-class officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, said, "The spirit of the garrison is to treat rainy days as sunny days and nights as day. It is this spirit that motivates us to train hard and complete today's performance." Sergeant Qin Shuangbao, a first-class officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, said, "We, the officers and soldiers of the Hong Kong Garrison, have the ability and confidence to safeguard Hong Kong's long-term peace, prosperity, and stability!" The first day of open house activities included a flag-raising ceremony, a military band performance, equipment displays, military training, and tasting of military food. Military-themed hands-on activities were also available on-site, including a simulated shipboard pipe burst, allowing citizens to experience repairing shipboard water pipes firsthand, attracting many students and members of the public to participate.
