You will learn how one neuron can use several neurotransmitters simultaneously, how hormones encode different types of stress, why signals in the brain are not the same, and what role negative feedback mechanisms play in the nervous and endocrine systems. Special attention is paid to the interaction of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and adrenal glands, the principles of hormonal regulation, the role of autoreceptors, retrograde neurotransmitters, adenosine, and the energy state of neurons.
