Being Black and Autistic with Morénike Giwa Onaiwu

Living with autism spectrum disorder can be hard because you're navigating a world not built for you. However, being black and autistic can sometimes be harder because of the intersectionality of race and disability. There are cultural barriers to address, in addition to disability barriers. My guest is Morenike Giwa Onaiwu who co-authored an anthology on the intersection of autism and race, which at the time, was the first book written by people with autism. She will discuss: 👉🏽 Going through childhood with undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder 👉🏽 Holding 3 minority titles: black, autistic, woman 👉🏽 Why the book, All the Weight of Our Dreams, was important 👉🏽 What she's learned as an autistic sheltering-in-place during COVID19 👉🏽 Reparations for Autistic People of Color Morenike's Info: https://morenikego.com All the Weight of Our Dreams: On Living Racialized Autism: https://www.amazon.com/All-Weight-Our...
