The Fire Department suspended searches this Tuesday in the Mandaçaia wooded area, in Telêmaco Borba, where the last signal from Isis's cell phone was detected. This location was also where the cell phone of security guard Marcos Vagner de Souza, the main suspect, emitted a signal on the night of the disappearance. The Fire Department and the Civil Police are expected to meet again this afternoon (25) to determine new locations for the searches. Isis Victoria Mizerski disappeared on June 6. According to investigations, the teenager was pregnant by security guard Marcos Vagner de Souza, 35 years old. The young woman told a cousin that she had left home to meet Marcos, who is married and having an extramarital affair with Isis. Since then, the teenager has not been seen again. Her mother said she received a message from her daughter with her location, but the message was deleted shortly afterward. “What caught the attention of the investigation is that the girl sent her location to her mother, and there is suspicion that she was asking for help due to the fact that the message was deleted soon after,” revealed Detective Jonas Avelar, responsible for the investigation of the Isis case in Tibagi. With the breaking of telephone secrecy, the Civil Police detected the young woman's location near the Mandaçaia Road, in Telêmaco Borba. The searches were concentrated in this region, with teams from the Civil Police, Military Police, Fire Department, and sniffer dogs. This location was also where the cell phone of security guard Marcos Vagner de Souza, the main suspect, emitted a signal on the night of the disappearance. Since the disappearance, Marcos de Souza has presented contradictions in his statements, according to investigations. Before being arrested, he was questioned by the Civil Police and said he had met with the young woman, but denied any connection to the teenager's disappearance. Marcos turned himself in to the police on Monday night (17). He voluntarily presented himself around 8 pm at the police station in Francisco Beltrão, in southwestern Paraná. The city is more than 430 kilometers away from Tibagi. Interrogated, Marcos confirmed the meeting with the young woman, but claims he left her near Vila São José. As of the publication of this article, he had not yet revealed further details. The man's defense claims that he has no connection to the disappearance and that he has an alibi. The police state that the man did not like discovering that his lover was expecting his child and allegedly tried to convince Isis to have an abortion. On Tuesday (26), investigations revealed that witnesses confirmed that, before Isis's disappearance, Marcos tried to acquire abortifacient drugs. The Civil Police and the Fire Department concluded their searches on Tuesday (25) in the Mandaçaia region, in Telêmaco Borba, where Isis's cell phone and Marcos's cell phone last emitted a signal. The teams swept the entire dense forest area, with the help of drones, quad bikes for accessing the trails, and sniffer dogs.
