Riyadh National Zoo located in the heart of Malaz in Riyadh. The Riyadh Zoo is spread over 55 acres of land. This zoo was opened in the year 1987 and is home to more 40 species and houses over 1500 animals. Some of Riyadh zoo animals are Bengal Tiger, kangaroos, houbara bustard, harbour seals, asian and african elephants, flamingos and many more. Riyadh Zoo has different type of birds like crows, multi colored parrots, Griffon Vultures, Eagles, pigeons, Swamp hen and sparrows. One way to see the animals inside the zoo is to hop on a train that covers a good portion of the zoo in 20 minutes. Also present inside the zoo are prayer halls, toilets, restaurants and cafes. The best time to visit the zoo during winter.
