Analog Insights: How to Shoot with a Large Format Camera?

In this video, I share one of my first experiences with a large format camera and take you through the entire process of taking a single shot. My motivation is simple: At one point, I'd like to shoot a portrait series on such a large format camera. Of course, it makes sense to practice on inanimate objects and get more familiar with the camera first. In order to just that, Jules and I drove out to Regensburg to photograph the Walhalla memorial. This historical landmark honors "politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists of the German tongue" (official brochure) and was built between 1830 and 1842 under the supervision of architect Leo von Klenze. We also brought a Hasselblad 501 C/M and shot a roll of Rollei Ortho 25.
