In addition to threatening Gulf energy infrastructure that could boost global oil prices, Iran is now considering opening a "second maritime front" in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, Yemen, through its Houthi militia. If this scenario were to materialize, Iran would be able to simultaneously control two global energy trade routes: the Strait of Hormuz in the East and the Bab el-Mandeb in the West, which would technically double the economic pressure on President Trump.
