Food Waste collections in the Wigan Borough
With landfill costs escalating and room running out, Wigan Council is all set begin phasing in food waste collections from May 2012 and extending them borough-wide by August. Every household will receive a small, silver kitchen caddy and a supply of compostable liners to make recycling food waste clean and easy. It's all part of the council's drive to help residents waste less, recycle more and save money.
