CAG Flags Rs 3,415 Cr Excess Spending in Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Yojana | Neelu Vyas

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has flagged ₹3,541.16 crore in excess expenditure under Maharashtra's flagship Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana during 2024-25, saying the Women and Child Development Department failed to provide any specific justification for overshooting its sanctioned budget. CAG said implementation of the scheme was marked by "significant deficiencies in budget estimation, expenditure control and financial management."
