UZALENDO WA ZAMARADI

Summary: Neema, a university student, suffers abuse and control at the hands of her boyfriend, Dan. Her situation triggers painful flashbacks of her childhood, where she witnessed her father's violence and her mother's belief that women must endure suffering for the sake of family ("Vumilia"). With the encouragement of her activist friend Chiku and the wise Mama Mwanza, Neema begins to break free from the cycle of silence. She decides to join the "Purple Movement" rally against femicide and domestic violence. At the rally, Dan attempts to assert dominance, but Neema publicly confronts him, declaring her independence and turning her pain into power. In the end, Neema transforms her trauma into advocacy. She embraces the color purple as a symbol of her strength and dignity, choosing freedom and a new future over fear. Main Characters NEEMA: A young university student.
