RICH GIRL ~ demo + movie versions (aorheart) Jeff Scott Soto & Cherie Currie

Here you can listen to the four fantastic songs from the 1991 movie "RICH GIRL." I watched that movie so many times because of these awesome songs featuring Jeff Scott Soto and Cherie Currie on vocals. You can listen to the four songs here in their demo (only with JSS on vocals) and the movie versions under the band name BREAKOUT. Songs from RICH GIRL movie 1991... Perhaps a little clarity in order here....the movie Rich Girl was a box office flop, I remember watching the screening of it before it was released and was so embarrassed on how bad it was, I made up a 'legal' excuse & asked the directors to use my initials spelled out as a pseudonym (JSS = Jay Essess) as the 'performed by' portion of my contribution. I even attended the movie on the opening night at a multiplex cinema and not only was it showing in the smallest screening room (the one usually reserved for movies already out for weeks and on their way out to be replaced by others) but I could count with 2 hands how many others paid to watch it! The soundtrack was never released for this reason, I am sure they simply never got around to finding a label to release it. Now the biggest misconception about the songs is who was on them! I was at the time working with Kuni or possibly even Carrera at this time, don't remember, but also being 'hired' to sing on LA Rocks demos, the band that eventually would be Eyes...the songs from the movie are NOT LA Rocks, not in any wave, shape or form! I think because I was doing LA Rocks stuff, people put 2 & 2 together but in this case, that equalled 5...completely wrong! I don't remember all who were on the tracks except for Danny Johnson (Private Life, Alcatrazz) on guitar & Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot) on drums. The songs were written by Jack Ponti and I was hired by the music directors on a referral to sing on those tracks. So there you go, finally clarity to those who managed to find these little gems, to this day all I too have is a crappy cassette copy of the songs as CD's, especially CD-R's, were not the standard then yet. enjoy !
