Four-cordon, long-spur pruning: An alternative one-season solution for pruning Sauvignon Blanc
Four-cordon, long-spur pruning offers an alternative one-season solution for pruning Sauvignon Blanc. It’s easy to learn, quicker and less physically demanding than cane pruning as there is no requirement for manual stripping or large head-cuts. Grower trials suggest that a similar number of buds can be retained on a four-cordon vine, when compared to a four-cane pruned vine. The method can be applied to three- and two-cordon vines as well.
