7. Laurent SERVAIS: Duchenne and SMA treatments available.

He is Professor of Paediatric Neuromuscular Diseases at the Oxford Neuromuscular Centre, MD UK, and Visiting Professor of Paediatric Neurology at the University of Liège. He is the leader of the SMA neonatal screening programme in the South of Belgium, where a medico-economic analysis of neonatal screening is being carried out. His main research interests include the development of innovative outcome measures, including linked tools for the assessment of patients in real life situations. Particular areas of interest include: output measures and clinical trials in muscular dystrophy in cerebellar electrophysiology in DM1, sexuality and pregnancy in patients with neuromuscular disorders. As principal investigator, he has been involved in several clinical trials testing treatments for Duchenne dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
