【航空戦艦伊勢】96機の襲撃を回避した、奇跡の戦艦|エンガノ岬沖で4空母を失った日|AIフルカラー復元
The Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Ise. Completed in 1917 at Kawasaki Kobe Shipyard. As a key vessel in the Eight-Eight Fleet plan, it became a core of the Combined Fleet after modernization. However, after losing four main aircraft carriers at Midway, the Navy made an unprecedented decision regarding Ise and Hyuga. Two aft main gun turrets were removed, and a flight deck was installed, a major conversion into an "aircraft carrier-battleship." On October 25, 1944, off Cape Engaño. Under the command of Rear Admiral Chiaki Matsuda, commander of the Fourth Carrier Division, Ise faced successive waves of US attacks as a decoy for Ozawa's Mobile Fleet. While all four carriers—Zuikaku, Zuiho, Chitose, and Chiyoda—were sunk, Ise, despite being attacked by 96 dive bombers and torpedo planes, skillfully maneuvered to evade all torpedoes, achieving a miraculous survival. In Operation Kita-Go in February 1945, it sailed from Singapore fully loaded with aviation fuel and rare metals, breaking through the US submarine blockade to return to Kure. However, on July 28 of the same year, it was sunk during the Kure Naval Arsenal air raid.
