Textured layered look on furniture, cross hatching technique

My first proper full-length tutorial is finally here! 🎉 For this piece, I wanted to create a finish with lots of texture, depth, and richness by layering multiple shades of green using the cross-hatching technique. I started by priming the piece with a bonding primer before applying two coats of Amsterdam Green as my base colour. I then built up layers using Antibes Green, Capability Green, and Firle, before adding another layer of Amsterdam Green to soften and unify the finish. Next, I applied a large stencil across the entire piece using gold metallic paint and added the beautiful Spring Branch transfer from Re-Design with Prima. To give the piece even more character, I created resin mouldings using epoxy resin, painted them brown, and highlighted them with gold before applying them to the sides and top drawer. Everything was sealed with two coats of Annie Sloan Clear Matte Lacquer. For the finishing touches, I aged the piece using brown wax and added highlights with a selection of gilding waxes. The drawers were revived with furniture tonic, and I added a stamped design to the drawer sides for that extra special detail. This project was all about creating layers, texture, and depth, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Now that it's finished, I hope you love it as much as I do! 💚✨
