Крымский троллейбус заехал на материковую Украину | Крым.Реалии ТВ
The Crimean trolleybus is one of the symbols of the peninsula. The trolleybus route from Simferopol to Alushta along the sea was first completed in 1959. Back then, conductors and tour guides operated the line. Many childhood memories of the Crimean trolleybus are linked. For example, vintage car restorer Oles Kalnitsky still recalls how, as a child, he would travel to Crimea by train and then take the fascinating trolleybus route to the Southern Coast of Crimea. Kalnitsky was fortunate to discover an old Crimean trolleybus in the village of Yalta in the Donetsk region. The horned vehicle had long since ceased to operate and was used as a barn. The restorer decided to restore the trolleybus and transported it to Zaporizhzhia. The first trolleybuses on the Crimean mountain highway – Skoda 8TP – were very slow, and their rods often came off. And it was Crimean craftsmen who came up with the idea to improve the design. In 2008, Skoda trolleybuses were assembled locally in Simferopol, using components imported from the Czech Republic. Ten years ago, Krymtrolleybus was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the company operating the oldest trolleybuses in the world: some of them had been in service for nearly 40 years. The Crimean trolleybus: what its tourist life was like, as well as interesting stories about the longest mountain trolleybus route in the world, are told by journalists from Krym.Realii TV.
