2ND WATER TEST after carb rebuild, dock rope, new handgrips, Billeee's rebuild, 1996 Seadoo XP800
This episode: 2ND water test after carb rebuild. Bought a new retractable dock rope, installed new handgrips, helped Billeee with his other Seadoo 947, rebuilding new piston and rings, gaskets etc. then water test, loading up low part throttle, once cleared up ran great half to full throttle. Tried adjusting in water couldnt really get it and time ran out, took home adjusted to a tad under 1 turn out and I am ready for another water test! I decide its time, pull it out to the garage and see if we can resurrect this epic model of jetski About the 1996 Sea-Doo XP800: For the watercraft enthusiasts out there, this '96 XP is the absolute holy grail of 90s two-stroke muscle skis. Featuring the legendary X4 hull and weighing in at only 430 lbs dry, it packs an incredible power-to-weight ratio. It is powered by a 110 HP, 782cc Rotax 787 twin-cylinder engine utilizing dual Mikuni BN-40I carburetors, a rotary valve intake, and a tuned exhaust pipe with R.A.V.E. (Rotax Adjustable Variable Exhaust) power valves. Built to lean hard, carve aggressively, and pull hard up to a factory stock top speed of around 56 MPH, it is a legend of its era. Leaving a classic machine like this sitting out in the elements for 15 years means we have our work cut out for us—from unseizing components to sorting the fuel lines and tackling a potential top-end build.
