A gem of a 30-minute program that directly confronts these questions. -- Satoru Sayama (born November 27, 1957) is a Japanese male professional wrestler and martial artist. He is the founder of Shooting (now known as Shooto), a sport considered the progenitor of mixed martial arts. He debuted as a professional wrestler in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 1976. In 1981, he became Tiger Mask, gaining national popularity with his fighting style that utilized aerial techniques, and sparking a major professional wrestling boom. He retired from active competition in 1983 with the aim of establishing his ideal martial art, but returned in 1984, participating in the first UWF under the ring names "The Tiger" and "Super Tiger." In 1984, he founded the mixed martial arts organization "Shooto," and in 1999, the martial arts organization "Seikendo." In 2004, he changed the name of "Seikendo" to "Seiken Shinryu," and in 2005, he launched "Real Japan Pro Wrestling (now Strong Style Pro Wrestling)." He served as the director of the Seiken Shinryu Kogyokan until 2020. In 2020, he closed the Kogyokan and ended the operation of Seiken Shinryu, establishing the mixed martial arts dojo "Sayama Dojo." From 2022, he announced a new martial art, "Shinganryu Sojutsu," and in 2023, the name was decided as "Shinganryu Sodo."
