Two days before the inauguration of President-elect Keiko Fujimori, ProInversión confirmed that it is promoting a sale of Petroperú properties, including the iconic 22-story building that currently houses the state-owned company's offices. Ángel Delgado, director of the Petroperú restructuring project at ProInversión, stated that the agency considers this building, which is over 50 years old, unnecessary for the company's operations. He also indicated that meetings have already been held with potential buyers and investors interested in the process. PROPERTIES FOR SALE The first stage of the auction includes the sale of 14 properties located in Lima and various regions of the country, a process that would take place between August and September. Among the properties included is Petroperú's main building, a property of approximately 20,000 square meters whose value could reach US$160 million. In addition, ProInversión identified two Petroperú-owned properties located in one of the most exclusive areas of San Isidro, currently used as warehouses. Due to their location and size, both properties could generate income of approximately US$10 million. The process also includes the evaluation of other properties, including those located in Punta Sal and other locations in the north of the country. In total, ProInversión is analyzing more than 400 properties for future auctions with the goal of obtaining resources to help reduce the state-owned company's debt of more than US$6 billion.
