DIY: Homemade Liquid Laundry Detergent

I'm adding some of my favorite DIY videos to my channel! In this first video, I demonstrate how I make my homemade laundry detergent using just 3 ingredients + water. It saves money & it works great for washing as well as stain removal. Here is my recipe: 2 Bars Fels Naptha Laundry Soap 1 Clean (New) 5 gallon paint bucket w/lid 2 cups Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (NOT baking soda) 1 cup 20 Mule Team Powdered Borax Start by grating the soap either on a box grater or in a food processor. Add the grated soap to a medium sized pot along with enough hot water to cover. Stir to dissolve, or heat on stove using the lowest heat setting. Watch it carefully and stir just until all the soap is melted into the water. DO NOT LET IT BOIL. Set aside. Add about 6" of very hot tap water to the bucket along with the washing soda and borax. Stir until all powder is dissolved. Add the melted soap to the bucket and stir to combine. Fill the bucket to about 3" below the rim with more hot tap water. Stir, then cover and let sit overnight. The next day the detergent will have partially solidified into a gel-like consistency. Using an long spoon or yardstick, break up the gel and stir. Consistency will resemble cottage cheese. If you prefer it smoother, you can use a paint stirrer bit attached to a power drill to blend. To use: add 1/4 cup to each load of laundry. 1/2 cup can be used for extra large loads like; bed linens, towels or comforters. This is a very low sudsing detergent so don't be tempted to add more because you don't see any suds! My channel contains video reviews of products I own & have purchased with my own money.
